Facts To Consiter About Synthetic Turf
1. Can animals harm the turf?
No. It is commonly used for pet runs as an alternative to concrete or rock. It is secured with
extra spikes to prevent dogs from digging and pulling it up. You simply rinse down any odor
with your hose or use soapy water to clean the soiled areas as well. And it is also horse
friendly they can walk on it or soil it and you can clean it same as you would for the dogs

2. What about maintenance?
When leaves, twigs or pine needles fall, simply rake up or use a leaf blower to clean them
off. And in high traffic areas, use a rake or broom to re–fluff. We also now offer maintenance
contracts when we install your turf. (Monthly, quarterly or twice yearly)

3. How long does it last?
Our product recoups its cost in and average of 3–5 years. Sod is less expensive to install,
but requires maintenance, fertilizing, water, and weed treatments and is also commonly
replaced. Our product is installed and requires very little maintenance. It pays for itself in
more ways than money. Your Saturdays are yours again! Traveling is not a problem any
more. When you come back it’s as beautiful as when you left. No broken sprinklers, dog
spots or brown areas. Our water issues are growing and drought conditions are steadily
rising. We need to be conscious of this in our homes and communities.

4. Are weeds a problem?
Periodically a weed will try to come up, most commonly on the edges near concrete. It is
possible to see one come up in a drain hole. If that happens simply pull up the weed and
spray the area with a little weed killer, it will stop the weed from coming up again and won’t
harm the turf.

5. Is turf safe for kids?
Yes! Not only is it safe but it eliminates allergies and research shows children have fewer
injuries when playing on turf compared to other ground covers. We install at schools, and
per-schools. Our turf meets all state requirements for safety. Parents have an option of
rubber infill to soften and add cushioning in the turf. And when done playing the kids do not
itch like with regular grass. They LOVE it!

6. How is the turf installed?
Your present ground cover (grass, rock, sand etc.) needs to be removed so only dirt
remains. We bring in decomposed granite (D.G) and compact it with our machine at 110
PSI. Then we lay weed barrier over the D.G. Once layers are compacted we cut the turf to fit
the borders of your area. The turf is then secured to the ground with sod spikes, and the
spikes are 5–6 inches long and are place approximately 6–8 inches apart on the perimeter.
Once this is secured we put an infill layer of black sand, or rubber. This is brushed into the
turf with a power broom (2–3 pounds per square foot) and the power broom spreads the
sand and infill evenly through the turf to give it that fresh mowed look.

7. Can the weather affect the turf?
We install turf in the mountains, where rain and snow drain very well with no flooding issues.
Wind is not a worry since the turf is secured to the ground so well by our installers that it
does not affect the turf or move at all. Now remember this is synthetic turf not real grass, so it
will get hotter that regular grass, but cooler than rock or concrete. In our research in the
hottest areas where homeowners live (Dessert Areas etc) they simply water down the turf
before walking out on it and it gets cooled off by the water because the sand absorbs the
water and helps keep the turf cool. Repeat watering down as needed

8. What kind of a warranty does this have?
An 8 year limited factory warranty form the manufacturer is included. The warranty is affected
when not installed by an approved installer. Our process of installation resists mold, rot, and
mildew. This product not properly installed over hard or non–porous surfaced such as
cement or any surface which does not drain properly will be excluded from the warranty.
